  • Export finance is ready to back Indian deals

    SIMEST has opened an India office with a dedicated €500 million line, SACE has added €200 million, and Italy reports more than €2 billion of export-credit guarantees for Indian buyers. That makes it easier to sell Italian equipment into Indian projects on competitive terms.

    Maccaferri is building one of its largest plants worldwide in India for geosynthetics and rockfall protection, De Nora makes electrodes and water technology in Goa, and Ariston acquired a water-heater plant near Hyderabad in 2025.

Italy is covered by the India–EU free trade agreement, whose negotiations concluded on 27 January 2026; signing was reported for December 2026, with entry into force expected in 2027. A Joint Strategic Action Plan 2025–29 covers ports, connectivity, mobility and waste-to-energy.
